It is impossible to avoid running into anti aging and wrinkle cream advertisement, unless you have been living on the moon for the past few years. What was once a far more niche marketplace has seemed to tip the scales of the masses. Wrinkle creams are being used by consumers of both sexes and by all ages. What is even more noteworthy is the fact that all of this rapid growth occurred during a period of economic uncertainty.

It does beg the question, Why wrinkle Creams and why now? The author offers some insight as to the reasons why wrinkle creams have become so popular in this day and age, and why consumers of all ages are running to websites and spas to take advantage of these anti aging creams.

To begin with I think it is important to note that there have been some significant advances within the wrinkle cream community over the past few years and certainly that plays a role in the popularity of these products. The fact that scientists have discovered peptides like Matrixyl or Renovage and are now beginning to harness their full potential changes the level of results a consumer can honestly expect from a topical cream or serum.

Furthermore, the research continues with all natural Stem Cells, usually harvested from apple cores, products containing stem cells as an ingredient have significantly altered the landscape of the anti aging and wrinkle cream industry.

Next, we should examine the economic situation this period of growth has occurred during. At initial glance you would think that it would not be a time when so many would be looking to come out of pocket hundreds of dollars a month for wrinkle creams and age defying serums. But a closer look shows that the number of "procedures" with surgeons or technicians have dropped dramatically during this same period.

Perhaps many of the consumers who have been using Botox injections and other "fillers" to treat their wrinkles temporarily have decided to take the more cost effective and therapeutic treatment over instant, but temporary fixes. So consumers of all economic status have turned to these topical wrinkle creams as their solution, culminating in increased sales.

But it's not just that wrinkle creams are more effective and the fact that consumers who were seeking out injection or procedures are no longer doing so, there has to be something else that makes an entire industry sky rocket in popularity. The solution most commonly referred to is the "because I can" theory.

Consumers will often times spend money on emotion driven products because they can, at that given moment. We all are very emotional about our appearances, as demonstrated by the amount of time we take each week to get ourselves "ready." When the desire to look your best meets face to face with the reality of aging, it is hard to deny that there are emotions involved, as each of us feels something when considering our age and how our appearance has changed, or hair grayed.

For this reason, consumers seek out wrinkle creams and other solutions to the changes made by age. Even younger consumers, hoping to stave off the realities of aging buy protecting and treating their skin early have gotten in on the rage. Wrinkle creams and anti aging serums are here to stay, that's for sure. Hopefully the quality will continue to increase and our results will continue to impress, and who knows just how popular wrinkle creams will get, I guess we will all see soon enough.
